Prop 60: No One Wants Porn With Condoms

BACK TO HOME
Fuck Condoms

Be honest: how many times do you see someone perform in the porn industry using a condom and go “damn, that’s pretty fucking sexy!”. The answer is never, because the simple fact is that no one wants to watch porn where condoms are used.

Now, whether or not you think Prop 60 is a good idea from a health perspective, the simple fact is that a lot of porn is produced in California and a number of companies make good money from doing it. Bringing condoms into porn is going to reduce the demand for porn from that country and, to be honest, there are so few people that actually want this dumb law to go through.

The situation right now is this: if someone wants to create porn using condoms, they are free to do so. If someone doesn’t want to become a pornstar because they don’t think the sex is safe – THEN DON’T GET INTO PORN. The porn industry is fine without you, and the rate of STDs among pornstars isn’t sufficiently higher than the national average to be a massive issue. If you didn’t know, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation is the group behind this law and to be honest with you, it’s fucking crazy, because to my knowledge, there have been around 6 transmissions of HIV in the last 30 or so years of porn in adult entertainment. When you think about how many cases of sex that is, I guarantee you that having sex with someone in porn is much safer than having sex with the average person.

On Tuesday, people in California go out to vote on the Proposition and from what I can tell, it’s going to go ahead. This is fucking dumb, especially because it’s forcing the porn studios to do so fucking much in order to make the lives of the pornstars as ‘healthy’ as possible. For instance, studios will need to pay for vaccinations, STD tests, medical examples and a health licence, as well as the cost of the fucking condoms themselves.

Chances are, less porn will be produced in California, which is bad for business. It’s a real shame, because Cali is home to some of the biggest and best porn studios on the planet. I’d be surprised if all of them remained in the state, to be honest. I can certainly see a shift toward another state for porn if this goes ahead.

Anyway, I guess we’ll have to wait until Tuesday until we find out if Californian porn is doomed forever.
