Bellesa: a porn site for women

We don’t like to believe that there are women out there who enjoy porn, but it turns out that the market for female-friendly smut is growing by the day and multiple destinations are trying to cash in on the latest trend of feminist-focused mature productions. I’ve happened upon a relatively new place online for female-friendly porn and I think you’re going to like it! In fact, I’m going to devote the next hour or so to writing up why I love Bellesa and give you a little first-hand information regarding the porn they have available. Anyway, let’s jump straight into this review: I can’t wait to tell you all about Bellesa.

First impressions of Bellesa

When you land on the homepage of this site, it’s pretty obvious that their focus is on giving you content above everything else. Almost all of the display area above the fold showcases girls being pleasured erotically by men. These chicks are part of a thumbnail attached to a preview pane that also contains a title, content type and length – all of the stuff you need to work out whether or not you want to watch a particular upload. Bellesa then has a small section below that for erotic stories, which you can click on and read for free. I guess I can talk about these a little later – there’s much more to explore on the homepage!

Perhaps one of the most interesting areas that Bellesa.co provides is a selection of sex toys – you can even get a 15% off voucher for your first purchase if you sign up to their newsletter! Further down on the homepage, you’ve got a collection of featured articles (they’re basically blog posts) celebrating women, sex and that type of thing. I did notice a few titles that made me think Bellesa leaned quite heavily toward SJW beliefs, but I’ll reserve judgment until I actually have time to break apart the content.

Looking for content at Bellesa

If you head on over to the videos section of the website, you’ll see that they have a number of categories you can select from on the left-hand side of the page, including threesomes, anal, girl on girl and more. They’ve also got three different levels of intimacy: sensual, passionate and rough. I guess different girls like different paces, so click on the one that fits your preference the most.

After clicking on one of the videos, I was presented with a full-length embed of the content that actually seemed to be sourced from a third-party. The initial impression I got from Bellesa was that their smut came from their own studio, but it’s mainly paysite stuff that doesn’t completely objectify women. Seems quite strange though, as this clip that they had right at the beginning of their list isn’t exactly the passionate, steamy love affair I expect female-friendly porn to focus on. Don’t get me wrong – it’s enjoyable porn, but it’s not the style I was expecting the place to have.

You can go ahead and sort the archive here based on number of views and length, although sadly, no option for rating – which would probably be the best way to go. I ended up sampling another 10 or so videos and had a similar take on them as the first one I selected – Bellesa doesn’t seem all that up-front about the fact that its taking porn from the regular industry and rebranding it as ‘female friendly’. It would also appear that their idea of sensual porn is just taking a standard erotic photo and applying a filter to it so that the top half is slightly darker. I’m puzzled as to what exactly Bellesa is bringing to the table that a place like Pornhub doesn’t already offer?

More locations at Bellesa

I decided to go and check out the erotic stories page where I was met with quite a few different sexy tales to flick through. I liked the fact that the text rendering is real neat and tidy, plus they’ve got a ‘length’ indicator so you can work out how many minutes a particular story is going to take you. I spent about 15 minutes skimming the stories and from my own toxic male gaze, I believed that this one – The Private Class – was probably the best they had to offer. Only 12 minutes to go through it all, so yeah: recommended.

They also had a blog post area where people write articles so they can pad out their CVs when applying for journalism jobs at places that might end up paying them, like Huffington Post and Buzzfeed. I went ahead and subjected myself to reading the article “Navigating body positivity and the fetishisation of bigger bodies” which wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting. In fact, I can probably agree with small segments of it, even if the overall message isn’t aligned with my view of the adult entertainment industry. I’m just a straight white male though, so what the fuck value would I have to bring to a discussion about, well, anything? Salty identity politics aside, the only thing to mention on Bellesa that I haven’t touched on completely is their sex toy store, but you’ll get enough annoying popups begging you to buy a dildo that you don’t need me to cover what they’re trying to sell.

Final thoughts on Bellesa

I have mixed feelings about Bellesa – the content here isn’t produced by the site and it feels just like normal porn, although perhaps a little more focus on the ‘romance’ side of things. The design of this place feels modern and attractive, but it feels almost like an imitation feminist porn website – it’s hard to describe! The popups, redirects and that type of thing – while done in a nice clean frame selling sex toys for the orgasm-loving woman – pissed me off, since it seemed so under-handed and against the whole ‘positive vibes’ message. Bottom line: I’d recommend you visit Bellesa yourself and see whether or not you like the cut of their jib. I have to check my privilege, so I’m not going to tell you what you ought to do. Love yourself and do what you think is best, xo xo.
