Okay gang – it’s your favorite XXX site reviewer here again and today, I’m going to talk to you all about a spot called Kemono. Firstly, I want to make it absolutely clear that this is a hentai, animation, and Western-style cartoon drawing hub. The website is all about finding generally paywalled content (although not always) from various artists on the Internet who basically focus on erotic-themed productions. This isn’t your typical website when you land on it: that’s because the project is mainly open source, and it’s about really helping people out there find a way to access media that might otherwise not be around. The exact specifics of how this operates are all available to you, by the way. Since you can look at the code for yourself and determine what Kemono is doing, where it’s doing it and why. If you’re not looking to tinker, you’ll want to probably head on over to the ‘artists’ section and start looking through all of the uploaders. Let’s talk a little about how these are organized and where it all comes from.

So in the artists area, you’re going to see a number of names of prominent producers of hentai and cartoon porn, including the likes of derpixon, bginga, soso and exga. These guys have their material hosted on various platforms, such as Pixiv Fanbox, Patreon and Gumroad. The default sorting metric is based on the number of times a specific creator has had something added to someone’s favorites – it’s a pretty good system, and basically ensures that you’re going to get the best of the best right at the top. There are other sorting options that you can fiddle with at the top of the page, and you can even filter to just show particular outlets for content. I can’t think of too many reasons why you’d do this, but it’s a nice option to have! Right now, Kemono has just hit a total of 30,000 indexed artists – that’s a lot of content!

So when you go ahead and select an artist, their posts will be displayed to you in a thumbnail format. I don’t know if literally all of their content is grabbed and indexed on the fly, or what the actual method to the madness is – all I can tell you is that for a lot of these artists, there’s a lot of porn! When you click on a post, it will typically bring up the entry and in some instances, links for downloading if it’s a video. I’m not quite sure why scenes are hosted off-site, but the images are typically provided to you straight from Kemono. Note that they have a sort of weird thumbnail approach to begin with, and if you want to see the full size images, click on whichever one you want and it’ll instantly load. Just to put the aggressive resizing into perspective: one image I looked at was 50 KB at the thumbnail level and then 1.15 MB when fully displayed. Quite the bump in resolution, that’s for damn sure.

If you’re not too sure what you want to jerk off to, and you’re okay with a complete mixed bag, it might be an idea to check out the latest posts area. As the name suggests, this will give you access to a huge number of entries – in fact, the entire website houses over 5 million updates from the looks of things. Be warned when you come to this area though: you’re going to find a huge assortment of random shit and not all of it is good. This brings me to the next section that I want to discuss – problems that I see regarding Kemono and why it might not be for everyone.

Downsides and issues with Kemono

Look, I get what this site is trying to do – I really do. These guys are bringing you content from specific artists and producers that you want to see. This is great if you know what you’re already looking for! But like, if you’re not so knowledgeable when it comes to this type of thing, well what happens then? I think that it would be fantastic to at least have a few tags associated with the various authors, so you can get an idea of the artwork they do. For instance, is there a decent bunch of incest from one creator? Tag it! Same goes for a wide array of other niches. I feel like if you come here and you’re not sure what you want, it can be hard to find the material you’re after.

Aside from that, I would like to mainly see a bulk download tool for each entry if there are dozens of images. Sure, you can do it by right-clicking, but as mentioned earlier – that means you have to open up each link and then go through that process. It’s a pain in the ass, and I think just making it more convenient for visitors is the right path to go down.

Well gang – I think I’ve explained what this anime XXX hub is about, and if you’re sure you know of artists that you want to see perform, this is the spot for you. It can still be good if you’re looking for a general jerk, since you can go through the best authors and stuff – I just think that tagged sections from doujinshi archives and the like might be better.
