Ryona Games: Mr. Porn Geek investigates

If you’re not too familiar with the phrase ‘Ryona’, it comes from Japan (like all crazy sexual fetishes) and is basically a form of domination where a man abuses a chick. It gets a little bit more complicated than that, and there are a few key differences, but if the artwork style of this is the type of thing that you’re into, it’s probably a good idea for you to read below: I’ve got a full review coming up! I’m interested in finding out if Ryona Games delivers on what they promise, or if it sucks ass. The good news is that I have a few hours to check out this spot and if, indeed, it rocks – I’ll be sure to let you know!

A look at Ryona Games’ interior

The developers behind this game are Japanese, but it has been fully ported by a Western studio based in Switzerland. They’ve made a lot of effort to get the language as accurate as possible and keep the underlying concepts and themes relevant and authentic to the original. I know a lot of Japanese content fans out there are very particular about this type of thing: I got my weeb buddy to take a look and he was more than happy to sign off on the focus and scope of their translations and so on, so if it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for me.

There are currently 27 games archived in the library: it would appear that absolutely all of them are exclusive projects that you will not find anywhere else online (except, of course, for the Japanese-language version of this website). So far, so good for the gang at RG.

Playing the titles

There’s a lot of text in these games – as well as decision making. You’re constantly asked to decide what happens next and for me, that’s a great part of the project that gives it a lot of edge over other things I’ve looked at recently. Interactive titles, after all, should give you a bunch of autonomy so you can decide what happens, how it happens and so on – props to RG for nailing this and showing us what the future of adult gaming is shaping up to be! The artwork they’ve got is without question some of the best I’ve come across too: they’ve got a great idea of what’s required in this genre and I know that fans of video games and women being dominated are going to love the smut that’s offered.

A quick conclusion

Have I had a good time here? You bet! I don’t think this is the type of thing that appeals directly to me, but you know what? The more I played, the more fun I had. That’s rare for Mr. Porn Geek, but as a result of this fact: they’re getting my full endorsement. So, do yourself a big favor and go see what these crazy cats are up to: you’ll have a blast, I’m sure.
