Softcore 69 – Mr. Porn Geek’s review

Welcome back yet again for another passionate review brought to you by the king of adult entertainment, Mr. Porn Geek! Today, I’m going to be going over a place that a friend of mine asked as a favor for me to review. It goes by the name of Softcore 69 and – well – let’s just say that I’m going to put the title here on blast at some point for a whole multitude of reasons! I’ll get to that later though: for now, I want to begin this review and give you the full story on what’s happening here and whether or not I think Softcore 69 is any good. The homepage of Softcore 69

The homepage here is a bit of a mixed bag. On the surface, the layout of the site is pretty good – you’ve got a large content area in the middle of the page that features preview panes of the latest uploads added to the library. These consist of a title, like quantity, view counter and preview image – all pretty standard stuff. I think my only complaint would be that the panes are a little large and you only have 3 in each row – this could easily be between 4 and 6, which I think would vastly improve the experience here of anyone who visits and wants to pick a video out immediately. If you scroll down to the bottom of this first content area, you’ll find a pagination bar that allows you to go back through the archive to see some more content.

Just below that, Softcore 69 has a collection of categories that you can check out. First problem here is the fact that they have a ‘videos’ category – fairly sure this shouldn’t exist since everything here is a video! Still, I suppose it does help us find out how many clips are on offer: 16,349. At least I thought that was the case until I saw that there were more clips in the celebrity tag, with well over 17,500. To be honest, I’ve got no idea what quantities of scenes are available here or what the purpose of the videos tag is – it’s all pretty confusing! The good news is that if you’re looking for some type of niche in particular, such as Asian, vintage, beach or otherwise – Softcore69.com has you covered. It’s a little scuffed, sure – but at least it does the job.

As for the bits of the homepage I don’t like: the color scheme is just an absolute mess. It’s like the website was designed in the early 90s or something, because the shades and contrasts picked just looked absolutely awful. Not enough pastel here and basically every color known to man is featured somewhere. It’s mainly the header that’s a sinner – red, blue, orange, white, yellow and grey all feature somewhere! Softcore 69 also has a recent searches segment which I think is pretty useful – I’m not going to follow in the footsteps of someone who types in ‘2x hindi film’ or ‘tarzin sex movies’. People who use searches on porn sites are almost always low IQ.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this earlier – I hate the fact that this place has the name Softcore 69 and that literally doesn’t make any sense whatsoever when they feature hardcore material. For those who don’t know, softcore is a phrase used to describe content that doesn’t have penetration – so when I see hardcore fucking scenes here, that’s not what the spirit of the title is about! I wouldn’t have too much of an issue with it because niches can change, but the header box has a byline of ‘Best softcore porn site’ – absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. It isn’t a problem if you’re not softcore: just make that obvious from the get go.

To put the content here to the test, Mr. Porn Geek decided that it would be best to look at the beach category for a look at what type of content they have to offer and what additional tools are available to find the right clip for us. I have to say that the sorting options here are quite cool – the default is by date, but you can switch this over to views or length if you’d prefer. Perhaps the only thing missing is a favorites sorting functionality, which would allow you to see material based on the number of people that have independently verified that it’s good. Views can be useful for this, but not everything that people watch is necessarily good, right?

I eventually picked out this clip of Julia Ann having hardcore sex – gotta love the modern day MILF, right? They always look so damn hot when they’re older and able to give you the best fucking of your life! What I really liked about Softcore69 was the ability for me to save content locally without any issue: you can just select the scene you want, right-click it and then ‘save as’ for a copy to be added to your hard drive. The average upload was pretty decent in the quality department too – not always 720p, but a few HD uploads for you to squeeze your hog over.

Softcore 69: my conclusion

There are quite a few features missing here and I’m not about to say that Softcore 69 is the best site in the world, but I did have a reasonable time enjoying their content and I wouldn’t be surprised if you experienced a similar sensation if you headed on over and tried it out for yourself. Softcore69.com still has a long way to go before it’s considered an all-time great, but for the time and being, they’re sufficiently decent that any lover of great porn will be able to squeeze their hog without a care in the world.
