Visiting Watch 8 X for the first time

With a name like Watch 8 X, I’m not going to castigate too many readers of Mr. Porn Geek’s reviews for not having an idea of what this place is about. I’ll let you know up front: this is a DVD service that almost exclusively focuses on Japanese porn movies. If you’re the type of person who really enjoys jerking off to the finest Asian ladies around and want hundreds of hours of content starring them fucking and sucking, Watch 8 X is the place for you. Watch 8 X: friendly caution

I hate to kick off reviews on a negative, but it’s important for me to let everyone know that Watch 8 X doesn’t currently allow people to connect to their platform via HTTPS. The only way to see the material here is on a HTTP connection, which as we all know isn’t secure or encrypted. This opens people up to a world of pain and suffering and while you’re probably not going to be affected by it, SSL/TLS certificates are literally free and take a few minutes to set up, so why not just have one so everyone can be secure? Okay, enough tech bitching here – let’s see what Watch 8 X is up to.

Homepage of Watch 8 X

When landing on the homepage of Watch 8 X, you’ll be presented with a list of scenes that they say have been uploaded to the website in the last 24 hours. I was slightly concerned that this wasn’t the case since they all had 2018 dates and after a quick Google cache check, I can confirm that nothing has been added here in at least a week. My best guess is that Watch 8 X no longer adds new material to their website, so not the greatest of starts for a place that wants our patronage. Still, not all is lost: this might just be a good library for porn that went offline for unknown reasons!

If you scroll down the page, you’ll see a few large adverts (these were blocked by HTTPS everywhere on my end) and then categories of Western-style content. I’m not too sure what the mix and match here actually achieves, but I suppose it’s good to have if you’re into all types of adult material. Further down again and you’ll find fresh Japanese porn DVDs – this time, I’m not sure what the ordering is, but since it’s multiple years, it’s probably content sorted by rating, view count or some other associated metric.

Extra features on Watch 8 X

You’ll notice right at the top of the page that Watch8X.com has a list all models link: this is where you want to go if you have a favorite JAV star who’ll make your cock cum in a minute so you can see all of the productions they’ve featured in at Watch 8 X that you can enjoy. While I generally like these types of places, this website’s directory is one of the most difficult ones I’ve come across to use. They list literally every single pornstar on one page and in many cases, there are dozens of variations of a name that could all be combined. I think that for people with older PCs, this page might end up actually freezing their system: it loads literally thousands of names and makes it all but impossible for you to sort or organize the girls into reasonable list themes. Too bad – I was thinking that Watch 8 X could salvage itself with at least having good infrastructure for accessing JAV.

The same situation is here on the categories page, but there aren’t nearly as many, so the page is much smaller and easy to manage. You’ll find all of the usual suspects in this area, including the likes of big tits, fisting, footjob, massage and more. They’ve even got the more Japan-focused niches, such as schoolgirls, swimsuits, bukkake and hot springs. Again, it’s a shame that you can’t sort these categories and that they don’t have preview thumbnails, but I wasn’t exactly expecting that given the absolute state of the models area on this site.

Trying some content

I figured it would be best for me to venture on back to the homepage so I could at least try some of their more recent material: what I found was actually pretty good. Click on a video and you’ll be taken through to the archive page for that material, which loads up in a stream (for some reason, this is something you have to scroll down for) that you can watch for free. You know that it’s authentic JAV when you’ve got adverts for Chinese online casinos – nothing quite sets you up for a great Japanese movie like seeing a hot Asian babe flip over a royal flush. I sampled 6 DVDs in total and it’s basically the same experience that you have on all of the other JAV streaming platforms: Openload is even used as a source provider for the porn clips.

My final thoughts on Watch 8 X

Look, I’m not going to sit here and say that there’s nothing good about Watch 8 X: that would be a complete lie. What I will do is point out the fact that this place doesn’t exactly have a lot going for it in comparison to other places that offer the same type of thing. If you’ve never found a Japanese porn DVD archive before then it’s great – if you’ve read my other reviews on the top places for that, this comes in far below expectations. Bottom line: there are much better alternatives, so while Watch8X.com will help you bust a nut, it’s far from perfect and I think you should shop around for a better spot.
