Mr. Porn Geek visits Rule 34

There are lots of porn communities on Reddit and while the majority of them tend to look at professional material or amateur smut that features real people, there are a few which delve into the realm of simulated pornography. The reason I mention this is because what I’m looking at today is a subreddit where you’ll find nothing ‘living’ – it’s all drawn chicks, rendered sex videos and that type of thing. Mr. Porn Geek just wants to jump on over to /r/Rule34 for the review, so let’s do exactly that and see what they have to offer!

Metric analysis at Rule 34

At the time of writing this review, Rule34 was sitting on a total of just over 600,000 subscribers: a decent number of people and from what I understand, this is one of the top 25 porn subreddits out there in terms of following. I decided that I’d next see how often new content is added to the feed here and was pleased to see that in the last 2 hours, 25 new submissions have been added. Aside from /r/GoneWild, I think this is the second most active porn community when it comes to new posts – I think that’s a pretty good endorsement of the subreddit.

Rule34: the content analysis

I often find that looking at the top monthly material as voted on by the users of a certain community is the best way to determine whether or not it’s actually any good for porn and, additionally, the focus of the subreddit. Right now on /r/Rule 34, you’ve got this game-simulation clip which people seem to absolutely love at the #1 spot (Fire Emblem) and a sexy, semi-clothed image of D.Va from Overwatch. You’ll often find that these types of places are heavily geared toward gaming type material – that’s just the nature of the Rule34 world. Other games, stories, movies and so on that I saw here included Harry Potter, League of Legends, The Legend of Zelda and Persona. There was one post out of the top 50 I saw that wasn’t actually strictly rule34: this one of a girl fucking herself cosplaying as D.Va. I’m not sure if cosplaying is the right word here: she doesn’t exactly have much of a uniform on.

Conclusion on /r/Rule34

Hentai lovers, gaming addicts and everyone in between: I recommend that you give /r/Rule34 a peep some time and see whether or not this type of thing appeals to you. Personally, Mr. Porn Geek loves what this place has to offer and for anyone who’s serious about the Western equivalent of parody doujinshi, Reddit has no better place to offer for it than Rule 34.
